Insurance
Before getting car insurance, you need to know exactly what you’re buying. There are two main types of auto insurance: liability and collision. Liability insurance is legally required in all states. It will pay for injuries or property damage you cause another person in an accident that wasn’t your fault. Collision coverage pays for damage to your car if it collides with another vehicle or object, like a fence or tree, which again is optional and isn’t required by law in most states.
