Prices start at $93,000 for a standard battery Model X 75D, but that can quickly climb depending on options and upgrades.
The Tesla Model X has received positive reviews for its roomy interior, nimble handling, and good ride quality.
However, it has received criticism for its stiff suspension, long stopping distances, and high price tag.
At press time, Consumer Reports gave it a score of 83 out of 100 based on road tests conducted by members who own or lease cars.
Mercedes Benz GLE-Class (GLE 550e)
Mercedes Benz GLE-Class is equipped with a hybrid powertrain that combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter gas engine with an electric motor.
The powertrain produces 469 horsepower and is capable of achieving 22 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined.
Even better, Mercedes estimates that buyers can achieve up to 75 miles per gallon in hybrid mode (with no gas used) and 23 miles per gallon in all-electric mode.
Although there are certainly cheaper alternatives on our list, only luxury consumers will splurge for something like a Mercedes.

Audi A7 e-Tron
If you’re looking for a luxury SUV with all-electric capability, look no further than Audi. The A7 e-Tron’s optional 38.4 kWh battery pack will give you up to 68 miles of all-electric range—enough to get you through most daily commutes.
Not bad for an executive sedan that looks like an A7, doesn’t it? And when it’s time to plug in and recharge.
Audi has teamed up with Bosch to make sure charging is done quickly: 40 minutes on a DC fast charger and 2 hours 30 minutes on standard household power.
Did we mention that it costs $81,000?
Infiniti QX50 luxurious interior and standard all-wheel-drive give it a slight edge over other luxury SUVs.
It also comes in at one of the lower price points for its segment, though that may change as more competition enters.
The current QX50 is already an excellent deal, however, so there’s no reason to expect Infiniti will change much when it updates it.
The new version is likely to use Nissan’s ProPilot semi-autonomous driving system, which brings along with it Lane Departure Warning and Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection systems and Distronic Plus Adaptive Cruise Control.
BMW X5 xDrive40e
BMW X5 xDrive40e is all-new for 2022, and while it retains its sport-utility roots, it’s more luxurious than ever.
The 2022 BMW X5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a 60kW electric motor, which gives it fantastic performance and fuel economy—21mpg city and 31mpg highway—while still having ample power to tow your jet skis behind you on vacation.

Lexus RX 450h is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for something that’s not only capable but also super luxurious.
While its performance is great, it falls behind in terms of cargo space and passenger space when compared to some of its competitors.
Still, with a roomy interior and sleek exterior, you really can’t go wrong with choosing one of these vehicles.
Plus, with a starting price of around $53,000 (depending on your location), it doesn’t exactly break the bank—making it one of our top picks for best luxury SUV 2022!
Jaguar F-Pace 30d R-Sport
2022 Jaguar F-Pace: The 2022 Jaguar F-Pace is an all-new luxury crossover. On sale in 2018, it’s aimed squarely at upscale competitors like Mercedes-Benz GLC and Porsche Macan.
In fact, Jaguar dubs its flagship a sports activity vehicle or SAV. We don’t yet know whether it will be powered by a supercharged V6 as shown here or a turbocharged four-cylinder.
But we do know that it will come standard with active safety features, smart cruise control, and customizable ambient lighting—all key to any modern Jaguar.
Later in life, expect an available hybrid model and possibly all-wheel drive as well.
Porsche Cayenne S E Hybrid

A whopping $79,300 gets you a plug-in hybrid with great off-road capabilities and plenty of room for five people and their gear.
The Porsche Cayenne S E Hybrid isn’t cheap, but then again—with 0 to 60 mph acceleration in just 5 seconds—there’s not much that can keep up with it.
Lincoln Navigator L EcoBoost 400h AWD
Topping our list of best luxury SUV 2022 is the Lincoln Navigator L EcoBoost 400h AWD, which comes with a starting price of $95,890.
This can seat seven people comfortably and has automatic climate control. With 20 inches wheels, it will get you to drive through sand without getting stuck on it.
Its powerful engine gives you top speeds up to 100 mph and 16 mpg on the highway. After 2020, Ford is planning to bring out more hybrid versions for eco-friendly driving experiences in the Lincoln Navigator series for better performance.
