2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Review: Price, Specs, and More

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio – Alfa Romeo gives the Stelvio 2021 a leaner lineup and a number of smaller updates. The company is also reintroducing the nickname “Sprint”.

Which was last seen on some of its most famous nameplates – such as the Giuletta Sprint and Giulia Sprint GTA.

It now applies to the basic Stelvio equipment, with the Ti and Ti Sport rounding off the rest of the levels.

In addition to new body paintwork (Ocra GT Junior, Rosso GTA, Rosso Villa d’Este, and Verde Montreal) Alfa now offers optional 21-inch wheels. Built-in navigation and a double-pane sunroof are now standard on the Ti and Ti Sport.

The latter also adds standard 20-inch five-hole wheels, a dark exhaust, a limited-slip differential, and a rear diffuser. The remaining changes include new and revised option packages.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The four-cylinder Stelvio turbo engine delivers 280 hp via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the base model, but all-wheel drive is optional and standard on the rest of the range.

While the engine was really fast and sounded great in our tests, the Stelvio’s only setup – besides the high-performance Quadrifoglio – eliminates choice for buyers and limits towing to a maximum of 3000 pounds.

In addition to its beautiful design, the Stelvio offers sporty handling and is a good fit. Even with 20-inch wheels, the 2018 Ti Sport fairing we tested offered sufficient insulation against all but the loudest bumps.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The interior appearance is so comfortable and looks luxurious

Like the Giulia sedan, the Stelvio has a stylish interior and a comfortable driving position. There is a sportier model with carbon fiber trim, but those who like it a little more upscale can opt for the wooden insert.

In addition to a beautiful driving position, leather seats cover the supporting front seats and elegant aluminum accents adorn the dashboard, doors, and center console.

The Stelvio has a few useful storage tricks up its Italian sleeve, but with small cargo space behind the rear seats, it’s not the roomiest crossover in the set.

While other Alfa drawers only hold an average amount, we appreciate the handy smartphone slot between the cup holder and the tray near the driver’s left knee. The center console also has a nice removable shelf below.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The infotainment system is only available in one size – 8.8 inches – and reacts to touch inputs and the handy rotary control on the center console as a redundant control.

Integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard, but dashboard navigation is optional.

We found the infotainment system to be visually appealing, but the navigation warnings were partially delayed. resulting in missed turns.

Using one of the two standard smartphone integration interfaces for navigation solves this little problem.
