Of course, no vehicle is without flaws, and the CX-5’s subpar electronics interface is one of its major flaws.
The CX-5’s infotainment system has subpar visuals, ineffective menus, and, with navigation-equipped models, no scrolling capability for its map screen when compared to those of rivals.
Even with the available Bose audio system, sound quality is nothing to write home about. However, despite its lower power and fuel economy, the Sport trim level’s base 2.0-liter engine is quite efficient.
We strongly recommend the available 2.5-liter engine if you’re planning on extended highway driving or full passenger loads.
In the tiny crossover class, there are a lot of options, so it’s best to explore them all before settling on one.
The Honda CR-V is another top pick, with generous interior space, high-quality furnishings, and a laidback driving personality that appeals to most consumers. The CX-5 is less fun to drive, but it’s an excellent option nonetheless.
The Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4 are two other vehicles you might want to consider, with solid interior materials and a powerful, optional turbocharged engine.

What’s New for Mazda CX 5 2015?
Significant new features include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual tailpipes, body-colored side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, push-button start, and a 60/40-split folding backseat.

The driving position in most Mazda CX-5s is adequate, and on long road trips, front seat comfort is top-notch. This class offers a lot of legroom in the backseat, which is big.
