Ralph says that he plans to keep it around for as long as possible because of its history and beauty.

1938 Bugatti 57sc Atlantic
If there’s one word that describes Ralph Lauren, it’s class. And if there are two words, they would be Bugatti Atlantic.
The 1938 Bugatti 57sc Atlantic is one of only two in existence; Ralph Lauren purchased it for $30 million in 2005. It has been called the most beautiful car ever made. The other is owned by Qatar’s royal family.
1948 Ford “Woody” Station Wagon
The 1948 Ford Woody station wagon is a vintage car that was owned by Ralph Lauren until 2014. This piece of luxury was valued at $2 million in 2014, but it’s been estimated to be worth around $3 million as of 2015.
The vehicle’s spacious interior is one of its most valuable attributes, it can fit up to seven passengers. It was used for two years by Mr. Lauren himself before he sold it at auction in 2014 to an unknown bidder.
Custom Inspired Classic Collector Car
Ralph Lauren, a fashion designer, collects vintage cars. In 2011, he created a special custom-car line called Custom Inspired. These classic cars are inspired by Ralph Lauren’s childhood toys.
Some models include a 1956 Jaguar XKSS roadster, 1955 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country convertible, and 1951 Ford Club coupe.
Many of these custom-inspired classic collector cars sell for over $300K. The unique look also helps Ralph Lauren stand out in what can be considered a rather predictable business: fashion.
The 1955 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country convertible is one of Ralph Lauren’s most valuable cars.
Not only is it an original heirloom passed down from his grandfather, but it has also been used in several Ralph Lauren advertising campaigns over the years.
According to Hemmings Motor News, it is estimated to be worth $100,000. It originally cost $2,000 when it was purchased in 1955. It has less than 1,500 miles on its odometer.
1956 Jaguar XKSS Roadster
The one-of-two 1956 Jaguar XKSS Roadster in existence, expected to bring in more than $7 million when it goes up for auction, boasts a remarkable history behind it.
The car was originally commissioned by Briggs Cunningham, an American businessman who owned several racing teams that competed at events like Le Mans in France.
While driving to Le Mans one year, Cunningham had an accident during which his XKSS (which he named Irv) rolled over several times.
However, because he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of impact, he didn’t suffer serious injuries.
1951 Ford Club Coupe
Ralph Lauren made his first million with Ralph Lauren Corporation in 1987 when he took his business public. He purchased a 1951 Ford Club Coupe in 1991 for $50,000 at an auction.
The car had been owned by James Brown, former lead singer of The Godfathers. It has a V8 engine and is one of three known to still exist.
There are only two Fords from 1951 being offered for sale on JamesEdition at present; both are priced over $1 million.
Ralph’s car is valued at about $1.4 million in present-day money, assuming you could find another to sell it to for that price…
American Muscle Classic Collector Cars
Ralph Lauren is an American fashion designer. He is also known for his collection of unique classic cars.
His cars have been featured in several magazines over time, including Sports Illustrated, GQ, and more.
He has a number of rare American muscle classic collector cars that are worth millions each. Here’s a list of some of his most valuable collector cars, which are still currently on the market to purchase.
The value for these Ralph Lauren car collections will continue to rise as he starts getting older and loses interest in them, making them even more valuable now!
1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Spyder
This 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Spyder from Ralph Lauren’s extensive collection is a rare, classic car worth millions.
Built for racing, it is one of only 10 in existence today with an original body that was not destroyed in a crash.
At over $12 million, it’s considered one of Ralph Lauren’s most valuable possessions; however, a shrewd investment (if you’re lucky enough to ever meet Mr. Lauren) could turn out to be quite profitable.
This rare collectible is only expected to increase in value as time goes on and future generations begin looking back at these classic cars with fond memories.
1965 Aston Martin DB5 Volante Drop Head Coupe
Ralph Lauren purchased his 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Volante Drop Head Coupe for $332,721 at Christie’s Pebble Beach auction in 2005.
At first glance, it might be hard to see why Ralph paid so much for a car worth so little (the average price of a DB5 is around $250,000). But that’s just it, this particular car isn’t an average DB5.
It has one very special detail, Lauren’s initials appear on both sides of the hood.
1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Scaglietti
Ralph Lauren loves his cars, but he isn’t one to talk about them often. So it may come as a surprise that he owns a rare 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Scaglietti, which is worth $6 million.
According to The New York Times, Mr. Lauren is known for thinking long-term when it comes to his car collection, although he does admit that every now and then he sells one or two.
And with so many pricey cars in his possession, it’s no wonder Mr. Lauren doesn’t like to part with them, at least not until later in life when they can be appreciated for their full potential.
Super Rare Exotic Collector Cars
When it comes to classic cars, there are few collectors who are as recognizable or influential as Ralph Lauren.
Over his years in fashion, he has amassed a massive collection of luxury vehicles. What’s unique about Ralph Lauren is that he tends to only buy iconic cars that capture history.
For example, he owns three Ferrari Daytonas, the most valuable of which sold for $17 million at auction in 2013, and each Daytona has its own distinctive style that’s rooted in historic racing.
Some other interesting collector cars owned by Ralph Lauren include a Mercedes SLR McLaren, Aston Martin DB7 Zagato, Bentley Arnage Red Label, and more!
Mercedes SLR McLaren
This 2005 Mercedes SLR McLaren, one of just 70 made, was designed in conjunction with McLaren and features a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine.
It originally cost $654,500 when it debuted in 2005. Ralph Lauren purchased it for $835,000 at a Sotheby’s auction in 2010, he then donated it to Bonhams for another charity auction that same year, where it sold for an astounding $1.2 million!
In 2012, Ralph Lauren was approached by German luxury automaker Daimler AG about selling his McLaren SLR to raise money for his new children’s hospital building project at UCLA.
Aston Martin DB7 Zagato
When it comes to Italian supercars, few are as valuable, or as stylish, as those built by Zagato. In fact, some have called them the most beautiful car ever made.
Topping that list is one of its earlier designs, which was commissioned by none other than Ralph Lauren himself. The Aston Martin DB7 Zagato features a lightweight aluminum chassis and boasts 750 hp.
This could very well be one of Ralph Lauren’s most prized cars, having been created in collaboration with an industry icon. We can’t even begin to guess what it might sell for.
Bentley Arnage Red Label
One of Ralph Lauren’s most famous cars is a Bentley Arnage Red Label from 2000. He purchased it for $220,000 when it was still brand new.
It boasts Italian leather, an eight-cylinder engine, tinted windows, custom rims, and personalized license plates that read RL CARS.
The car is currently worth $500,000.00 but could sell for more if a buyer wanted to bring it back to showroom condition.
With only 10 models being made in 2000 there were only 2 Red Label Bentleys that had Ralph Lauren interior customization.
Ralph Lauren was a genius when it came to transforming his vision into a global empire, using both his life experiences as well as those he’s discovered throughout his career.
While I haven’t had nearly as much success as Ralph, I can confidently say that there are many key lessons that I have learned from him (and some other great business minds).
The most important thing to remember is not to waste time trying to be someone else; instead, you should focus on being yourself, the world will pay attention, so long as you deliver quality.
And that’s why Ralph Lauren car collection list is beneficial for people interested in knowing about the fashion business. With all these unique and valuable classic cars, you’ll certainly get inspiration for starting your own company.
