8 Things to Consider Before Buying a New Mazda CX 3

3 years ago, the Mazda CX 3 was introduced to the world, and it quickly became one of the most popular compact crossovers in North America.

In fact, Consumer Reports even named it one of the best cars under $25,000! The Mazda CX 3 has become so popular because it provides all of the performance, comfort, and luxury you’d expect from a much more expensive vehicle.

However, with many similar compact crossovers on the market right now, the Mazda CX 3 might not be your first choice anymore.

1. Size – What’s right for you?

Thinking about getting a new car? With so many vehicle options available, it can be difficult to choose. In order to make an informed decision, you should take into account how large your family is, as well as how many people you will typically be driving with at any given time.

2. Style – Do you want sporty or sedate?

Some people love driving around in a flashy sports car while others prefer a more classy, sedate style. The new Mazda cx 3 comes in 2 models: Sport and Touring.

It’s important that you look at both when shopping around for your next car. You might find one of them suits your style better than the other.

3. Safety – Is safety important to you?

All new vehicles are safe. But, if you’re looking for extra protection for your family, look at how you can add safety features to your vehicle.

The new Mazda CX-3 has plenty of different options that can give your family peace of mind during any driving situation.

4. Technology – How tech-savvy are you?

The new CX-3 features Mazda’s i-Activsense suite of technologies, which includes lane-keep assist and traffic sign recognition.

The car also comes with advanced safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive headlights. However, you must be tech-savvy if you intend to take advantage of all these perks.

5. Color – Are there special colors that attract you?

Choose red if you want your car to stand out, or blue if you prefer it to stay under the radar. Black, white and gray is also available for those who want a subtle ride.

6. Cost of Ownership – A long-term investment?

The new Mazda CX-3 is an affordable option for those who want to get into an SUV or crossover vehicle.

The warranty that comes with a new CX-3 makes it an investment that lasts over time, meaning your money will go farther than you might have expected.

To top off all of these benefits, you can expect low monthly payments due to great financing options from Mazda’s partners.

7. Fuel Efficiency – For someone who always drives around town.

If you’re going to be driving long distances, look for an SUV that has great fuel efficiency. You’ll save money on gas and get better fuel economy than with smaller vehicles.

The Mazda CX-3 is highly rated for its miles per gallon rate. Getting around 22 MPG in mixed city/highway driving, it gets very good gas mileage compared to other vehicles in its class.

8. Personal Preference – What makes you smile when looking at your car in the driveway?

I love having my windows down with music playing and just driving around. For me, I love getting in it, turning on my favorite song, and taking off.

When I do that it makes me really happy. However, if you don’t like loud cars you may want to think about how often you would actually use your vehicle like that when deciding what car is best for you.

2022 Mazda CX 3: Pros and Cons

The new Mazda CX 3 2022 model has finally been released, and it’s already taking the world by storm.

As you may have heard, there are both pros and cons to this new car that needs to be taken into consideration before buying one for yourself, whether you’re a first-time Mazda cx 3 2022 owner or you’re looking to buy your second or third one!

Read on to discover all of the pros and cons of the Mazda cx 3 2022 so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not you should buy one in the near future!

Pros

The new Mazda cx 3 2022 is reported to have a more reliable engine than other sedans. It is also said to be extremely comfortable, taking into account its ergonomic seat design.

The best feature, however, may just be its price; at $5,800, it is considerably less expensive than many other vehicles of its kind. Many people will feel that they can justify spending a bit more for what they get out of their new vehicle.

Considering that a great deal of work goes into ensuring quality control in car manufacturing, it is difficult to dispute that sentiment.

Comfort, Space, Looks, and Style

While many of us crave a compact SUV that can hold plenty of gear and tow, not all SUV shoppers are actually interested in space.

If looks or comfort is your main priority, look at what Mazda has to offer with its Mazda cx 3 2022. Offering a luxury ride with great seats and lots of passenger space, drivers will enjoy getting behind the wheel.

The two-row, five-passenger vehicle comes in a rear-drive or all-wheel-drive model equipped with a 250 hp 2.5 L four-cylinder engine for front-wheel-drive models or an AWD model that offers an available Active Torque Transfer System for improved handling on rough terrain.

Interior Quality

When it comes to interior quality, Mazda has a strong reputation for making cars that can compete with much more expensive vehicles.

With that in mind, you’d expect the new Mazda cx 3 2022 to be a class-leading car when it comes to comfort inside; indeed, we’ve heard nothing but positive things about how spacious, high-quality and easy-to-use everything is.

This extends to standard equipment such as leather seats and air conditioning. We haven’t seen any information on interior storage yet, but given what we know of other modern Mazdas there will be some small cubbies available, and they’ll likely be fairly functional, too.

Fun Factor

The Mazda CX-3 has a lot of personality for such a small crossover. Even if it doesn’t really have all that much room, it’s still fun to drive, thanks to its snappy steering and sporty handling.

However, cargo space is a little less than what you would get in other crossovers. And even though safety is not lacking in any area with the Mazda CX-3, some people might be disappointed with its crash test ratings.

Plus, it may be too small for families or pet owners who need lots of cargo space. But if you want a car that feels like an SUV but still has fuel economy better than most compacts out there, then you should definitely give the new Mazda CX-3 serious consideration.

Cons

As the years go by, more and more cars come out on the market, vying for top-of-the-line status. Some of these cars are only slight revisions to what’s already been released, while others are brand new models with unique features and drivetrains that set them apart from their competitors.

The Mazda cx 3 2022 is one such car; in fact, it’s such an improvement over its predecessor that it’s hard to believe they’re from the same manufacturer.

It lacks power in mid-speed overtaking

The new Mazda CX-3 feels pretty quick from a standing start, with impressive response in all gears, although revving above 4000rpm does reveal some mild turbo lag.

The real issue here is that even when you select S mode and kick down hard at highway speeds, overtaking moves will require you to drop down several gears (causing some turbo lag) and pass quickly on a wide-open stretch of road. It’s not impossible but it’s not very confident either.

For that reason alone we wouldn’t recommend buying an AWD CX-3 unless you really need it. Stick with FWD unless your driving habits necessitate AWD. What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts below!

The suspension is too firm

The suspension feels firmer than in past models, which makes it feel sportier. However, if you live in a rough area and need to drive over a lot of potholes or uneven roadways, you may feel more bumps than before.

The firm suspension has both pros and cons. On one hand, it can give you a smooth and enjoyable ride that’s great for long drives.

But if your vehicle encounters road conditions that are less than ideal—like off-road driving—you’ll likely feel each bump along the way.

The tradeoff between comfort and handling should be considered when deciding which type of suspension is best for your needs.

Rear passengers are uncomfortable

The back seats are pretty cramped, which makes for a not-so-pleasant ride for rear passengers. The low roofline also means that taller riders will find it difficult to fit comfortably in the back.

However, despite these setbacks, it’s still far more spacious than comparable subcompacts. For example, Honda’s similarly priced Fit is far more restrictive and doesn’t have nearly as much legroom or headroom.

So while it might be smaller overall, we think that rear passengers in most cases will actually prefer riding in an EcoSport over a Fit.

The interior gets noisy on long drives

The dashboard plastics in many current cars look and feel like they belong in much cheaper models. The materials just don’t measure up to competitors like BMW or Audi, but we expect that will change in future models as automakers try to stay competitive.

Newer generations may look better, but a dash that looks and feels cheap hurts value perceptions. Luckily, there are several simple steps you can take to reduce harm.

First off, make sure your interior is well cared for by keeping it free from dirt and grime. That way, you won’t have to worry about something on your dash potentially staining it permanently.

Interior quality could be better

Compared to some other vehicles in its class, interior quality on vehicles with leather upholstery seems a bit lacking.

While there’s nothing wrong with plastic trim, leather is soft and feels premium, especially on high-end cars; when it comes to the new Mazda CX-3, there’s just no room for it.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of storage space though; headroom and legroom seem ample for even tall passengers. The instrument panel has a stylish design and most controls are easy to find as well.

Dashboard plastics look cheap

The dashboard plastics in our example appear to be rather low-grade plastic, likely a cost-saving measure on behalf of Mazda.

The top trim level is a leather dash that looks nice but isn’t available with all trims. If you want better-quality materials, there are plenty of other vehicles in this class, such as some Honda models, that offer higher-quality materials and don’t skimp on higher trims.

In fact, our car didn’t even have wood trim or carbon fiber trim that might make up for its cheap-feeling dashboard.

We have to wonder if Mazda will update its feel at some point; it’s possible it could happen before we see a new model roll out for 2022.

Final Thoughts

The new Mazda CX 3 2022 is a great all-around vehicle that offers drivers something different. With so many SUVs available to choose from, it’s nice to see one that stands out with style, performance, and comfort.

However, Mazda has yet to release pricing information for its newest addition, which will make some buyers skeptical about whether or not it can compete against other similar vehicles.

Also, because it is only slated for release in 2022 we don’t know if it will include new safety features or anything else worth noting at this time.

Because of these unknowns, we recommend waiting until more information about Mazda’s newest model comes out before you make a purchase decision. So that’s it for our Mazda cx 3 review, hope it’s useful for you.
