Latest-model Nissan Rogue looks much like its predecessor with a rounded roofline, black grille, and upright shape. At first glance, there isn’t much to differentiate it from a crossover.
The vehicle will feature more rounded headlights and taillights, but that’s about it in terms of exterior updates for 2022.
Buyers will still have their choice of two- or four-wheel drive on all trim levels with one exception: If you want to purchase a hybrid model, you’ll only be able to get a four-wheel-drive version.

Nissan uses a single-overhead-cam design in its base engine, an inline-four that produces 173 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque.
It’s paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that offers more benefits than disadvantages. The Nissan Rogue gets an EPA estimated 28/38 mpg city/highway for front-wheel-drive models.
But it drops to 25/34 mpg when you’re using all four wheels on one of Nissan’s all-wheel-drive models, the EPA estimates are competitive among rivals, but they don’t exactly wow.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
In general, companies are pushing for higher fuel economy, and every new vehicle’s fuel economy ratings are always higher than the previous model.
The new ratings include a combined city/highway mpg rating, which can’t be reached during real-world driving conditions.

The 2022 Nissan Rogue will come in two models. The entry-level model is powered by a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine rated at 156 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque.
