Regardless of road or driving conditions, the high-end compact crossover’s suspension is well-damped and provides a secure sensation.
Even over pockmarked asphalt, the ride is smooth and controlled, with or without the optional adaptive suspension.
The front wheels provide no discernible feedback, and the steering is accurate but lightly weighted. The steering feels heavier, but not natural, in the Dynamic drive mode.
A Porsche Macan will show you a much better time than the Q5, which is capable of handling it reasonably well on a twisty two-lane.
