Mazda MX 30 Range, Charge, and Battery Life
Compared to other electric vehicles, the MX-30 30.0 kWh battery is small. The EPA estimates its range is only about 100 miles per charge, which is less than half the distance between the Bolt and Kona Electric.

Mazda MX 30 Interior
The new 2022 Mazda MX 30 EV interior uses natural and sustainable materials such as cork and seats made from recycled plastic bottles.
The front seats are enough to fit two American adults, but the rear seats are much narrower in headroom and legroom.
Floating on-trend, the center console creates storage space behind a digital display that adapts the car’s climate control system.
Mazda offers a number of standard features one would want on an MX-30, including heated front seats, a 7.0-inch digital instrument display, a power moonroof, auto-dimming mirrors, and more.
The cargo area behind the MX-30 rear seats isn’t very roomy, so a Costco trip may require folding the rear seats.

Mazda refers to the MX-30’s hinged rear doors as “Freestyle” doors, and they open to reveal a pillarless cabin unlike any other small SUV on the market today.
However, in terms of practicality, they might stiffen your style a bit. You might be better off thinking of it as a middle ground between a full five-door car and a three-door car.
You can only open the rear doors after the front doors are open, and while they improve access to the rear seats compared to a three-door car, getting on isn’t as easy as it is in a five-door car.
Elsewhere, the cabin is quite roomy in terms of storage provision. Behind the center of the dash is a large area with a USB socket and even a three-pin socket for charging.
A space under the armrests also provides plenty of room for belongings, and each seat gets a door pocket.
At 4,395mm, the MX-30 is longer than the Vauxhall Mokka-e (4,151mm) and Kia Soul EV (4,220mm).
It splits the two in terms of width by 1,795mm compared to the Soul’s 1,800mm and the Mokka’s 1,750mm. You would never know that if you were sitting in the back as there is less space in the cabin.
Legroom, Headroom & Passenger Space
Front-seat space is decent with ample headroom for tall drivers. You can achieve a very comfortable driving position with various adjustments on the seat and steering wheel.
In retrospect, things are less extensive. The MX-30 doesn’t really have enough room for an adult to sit behind a tall rider, while even kids struggle.
There are two small windows that let in light, but they’re generally gloomy and difficult for children to see – not the most comfortable place to travel further afield.
The trunk was a pleasant surprise, especially given the space offered for rear passengers and the MX-30 sloping rear roofline.

Because of the coupe’s roofline, there’s not much extra room to stack items above the parcel shelf, and there’s nowhere else to store your charging cable other than in the trunk in the included pouch. Overall, this is a great trunk area for a small car.
Infotainment and Connectivity
In addition to the infotainment Mazda MX 30 digital panels for climate control and vehicle settings, a secondary 8.8-inch display emerges from the dashboard to cover infotainment functions such as the audio system, navigation, and rearview camera.
